Backup, Recovery And Archive
What is Backup recovery and archive solution?
Most organizations are feeling the pain of exploding data volumes, the need for fast recovery times, affordable replication and the new requirements of a virtual environment – all of which traditional back up struggles to support.
Not all data is equal and should be backed up and managed accordingly; static data should ideally be archived, searchable and accountable if requested by regulatory bodies, Mission critical data must be secure, possibly have restricted access rights, but readily available – these are areas that must be considered in any current Data Back-Up and Disaster Recovery strategy in conjunction with solid governance and enforced processes and policies.
NTIPL’s Backup Recovery and Archive Solutions have vast experience in Data Back-up and Disaster recovery and provide a Back-Up and Disaster Recovery assessment service to our customers, that will allow you to make fact based decisions on where you should focus to reduce risk to your organization and how to plan your strategy moving forward, whether incremental or dramatic changes are needed to safe guard your data.
Purpose
NTIPL’s Backup and Archive Solution assists those who wish to preserve their important and sensitive data in case there is any kind of catastrophe or equipment failure. This is a facility that is availed on a personal as well as corporate level and from small to large sized business. Once the backup is done, a person can retrieve the information anytime they need where ever they are.
There are two main purposes of getting a backup done. They are as follows:
- The main reason is to recover any data that is lost be it due to corruption or even deletion of the data. This is one of the most commonly known problems that are faced by users. Based on a survey it was seen that almost 66% of the participants lost their files on their PC.
- The second reason to use this facility the ability to recover backdated data. A data retention policy can be defined accordingly as per the requirement of the user; it is configured as per the requirement based on the date or time duration of data that needs to be backed up.
Though the Backups and Archive Solution mostly represents a disaster recovery process in simpler forms, hence can be an essential plan or step that can be taken, for disaster recovery automatically, however, backup’s should not be the only Program of Action for disaster recovery. Since not all back-up systems or applications are able to restore the data of a computer or any other complex configurations such as database server, active directory servers, computer cluster, just by restoring the data which is stored in the backup.
